NURS-6003N Transition to Graduate Study Networking Opportunities

NURS-6003N Transition to Graduate Study Networking Opportunities

In this learning section, you’re starting to build the base for your success in both your studies and your career. It begins with creating a picture of what success means to you personally. Everyone’s idea of success may be different, but you don’t have to take the first steps by yourself.

Walden University and the College of Nursing have their own goals and values that aim to help you achieve your vision of success. Your new academic community, including teachers, support staff, and fellow students, can also offer support. Additionally, professionals currently working in the field can assist you in clarifying your goals.

This part of the course wants you to think about how Walden’s and the College of Nursing’s missions and goals align with your own academic and career ambitions. You’ll start to identify people and groups who can support you as you develop your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan, which acts as a roadmap towards your goals. Lastly, you’ll explore the significance of networking and how it can aid in reaching your academic and career objectives.

Please note: Unless stated otherwise, initial responses to discussions are expected by Day 3, with follow-up responses by Day 6. You’re required to participate on at least three different days. This ensures ample time for everyone to engage with your posts, and timely responses to questions directed at you are also important.

Unless you’re studying seventeenth-century poetry, you might not be familiar with this work. But you might recognize the famous phrase: “No man is an island…”.

As you embark on your journey towards academic and professional success, you have a fantastic opportunity to connect with academics and professionals who can support you along the way. NURS-6003N Transition to Graduate Study Networking Opportunities

In this module, you begin laying the foundation for your academic and professional success. Your efforts begin with a vision that includes your own definition of success. Your vision may vary from those of your colleagues, but this does not mean you have to take these first steps alone.

Walden University and the College of Nursing also have a vision and mission, which include helping you to make your own vision a reality. Members of your new academic community, such as faculty, support teams, and fellow students, can also be helpful. Current practitioners and other member of the professional community can also help you to clarify your vision.

This Module’s Discussion asks you to consider how the Walden mission and vision as well as the College of Nursing’s mission and vision apply to your professional and academic goals. You will also begin to identify individuals and teams who can help you along the way as you begin designing the “blueprint”—your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan—that will guide you toward your own vision for academic and professional success. Finally, you will explain the importance of networking and how it can help you achieve your professional and academic goals.

Note: Unless otherwise noted, initial postings to Discussions are due on or before Day 3, and response postings are due on or before Day 6. You are required to participate in the Discussion on at least three different days (a different day for main post and each response). It is important to adhere to the weekly time frame to allow others ample time to respond to your posting. In addition, you are expected to respond to questions directed toward your own initial posting in a timely manner.
