Evidence-based practice is the most trending issue in the nursing field especially when it comes to the clinical application. According to this journal, implementation of the evidence-based practice is insufficient in the daily practices carried out by caregivers in the clinical areas. This is because its implementation is complex and demanding. For the evidence-based practice to be incorporated into the system, it calls for the development of extra knowledge, acquiring new skills and proper guidance above the need for extra funds to purchase the equipment needed (Friesen‐Storms et al., 2015). Evidence-based practices are diverse depending on the areas of practice. It is based on existing theory, researches, and information from the experts in the field. The practice is based on outcome ensuring high-quality care is achieved with patent satisfactory and safety. With evidence-based practice, indications for an intervention is very critical hence avoiding on wastage of time and resources, carrying out procedures that are less beneficial to the patient. This article focuses on the implementation of the evidence-based care by nurses in the clinical setting.

The main aim of carrying out evidence-based care is that the nurses wanted to provide high-quality care to the patients. One of the traits pointed out that enabled the nurses to implement the practice is that they were open to innovation, hence were willing to incorporate recent researches into their daily operations based on evidence. Despite being willing, the nurses faced challenges in the course of service delivery. Conclusion

Use of evidence-based practice makes the caregivers be constantly actively involved in their practices. Nurses who have developed the culture of using approaches based on evidence in their course of practice, get more empowered as they are able to make a difference in the clinical areas in terms of patient outcome, quality of care and patient safety. There is a need for the healthcare sector to aim at removing the hindrances that exist preventing standardization of evidence-based care throughout the world.
