The Impact OF Nursing Informatics on Patient Outcomes and Patient Care Efficiencies
Today, in healthcare, besides making sure patients get good care and are safe, it’s also important to make sure care is efficient and patients get better. Technology is now very important in healthcare. Nursing informatics is also very important. It helps nurses use health technology tools better. According to McGonigle & Mastrian (2022), nursing informatics helps use data and technology to help nurses, doctors, patients, and others make better decisions about how to take care of patients. Projects using technology have been used to make care and nursing better. This paper suggests a project using nursing informatics to make patients better or care more efficient.

Project Description (Patient Queue Management)
When patients go to hospitals, how they feel there affects how well they’re taken care of. Using systems to manage queues can make waiting times shorter, making care better and more efficient. According to Mosier et al. (2019), managing patients well helps hospitals work better and give better care by making wait times shorter and meeting care goals better. Using a queue management system would show real-time queue status, tell care providers about patient flow, let patients check their status, join a virtual queue, and make appointments. It can also be linked with other systems to prioritize cases like emergencies, elderly, pregnant, and disabled patients. Sometimes, patients are stressed and in pain when they go to hospitals, so they want the best care and comfort (Sipes, 2016). This system not only makes patients’ experience better but also helps manage staff better. This project would make patient experience better, make care more efficient, and make staff work better. Using a queue management system would help schedule appointments for patients and make them wait less.
Stakeholders Impacted By This Project
Working together as a team is very important in healthcare to give good care and keep patients safe. For this project, many different people will be affected. These include patients, nurses, IT experts, leaders, and administrators. Patients are the main ones who will use and benefit from this project. The system will let them book and change appointments and see how busy the hospital is, so they can come when it’s best for them. According to Ng et al. (2018), patients are happier when they get care quickly. Using queue management systems makes patients happier and gets their needs met faster.
IT and nursing informatics experts are also very important for this project. The project is based on IT, so IT experts are needed. Technologies Required in The Proposed Project
To make this project work, we need different technologies. These include a patient flow management system, a computer network, and ways for patients to use the system like an app, website, or messaging. The website or app will let patients check the queue and how long they have to wait. Clinicians will use computers to track patient flow and prepare for more patients. There will also be screens showing patient tickets and where they are in the queue. The computer system and database are the base of the project. Care providers will use them to watch data and patient queues to see urgent cases and get more workers, so wait times are shorter.

For this project to work, the team needs to work together well. The team includes a leader, IT experts, nurses, and patients. As Sipes (2016) found, change is normal, but in healthcare, it’s important for everyone to work together to make changes work.
