The purpose of the program

The main purpose of this program is to nurture demonstration of techniques related to leadership and management regarding the nursing practice. The program incorporates leadership courses that can expand nurses’ knowledge in approaching staff and management situations with an improved set of skills. The courses in this program are set to improve nurses’ interpersonal relationship within the nursing environment, this is to enable them to improve on the ways they interact with and approach their colleagues while enhancing collaboration in the delivery of care. The program also is to enable nurses to view their leaders and managers in a different way.

This program is aimed at expanding the professional knowledge in the field of nursing. It is purposed to add more education, skills, and understanding within the context of healthcare provision and management. It is programmed for nurses to learn the rationale of “why” implementing certain plans of care beyond just “how” to intervene. The program is also set to increase the creative and critical thinking skills together with good communication techniques that form better leadership and management qualities (Becker, 2017).

The program is purposed towards meeting the requirements for clinical competencies and proposed standards as guided by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). It targets to ensure high quality and integrity of graduating nursing students. It also aims to register high rates of completion, certification, and employment for the nursing students.

The audience that is targeted by this program are the registered nurses who have graduated from a nursing program and are willing to advance their studies to a higher level.
