Nursing Action Plan

Nursing Action Plan, Introduction: The master’s program in nursing outcomes is aligned with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing. Upon completion of the program, a graduate will be able to practice safe; high quality advanced nursing care based on the concepts and knowledge from nursing and related discipline. Additionally, the master’s degree program also assist in constructing processes leading and promoting quality improvement and safety in advanced nursing practice and health care delivery.

Masters in Science in Nursing is also one of the most important education steps in nursing since a nurse prepared at the level will be able to utilize contemporary communication modalities effectively in an advanced nursing role (Wittmann-Price & Cornelius, 2013). Moreover, it is essential to point out that MSN program also assists in promoting the ability of the nurse to evaluate the design, implementation, and outcomes of the strategies developed to meet the health care needs. It is also essential to point out that Masters program in nursing is a critical step in education that increase the ability of the nurse to develop a plan for lifelong personal and professional growth that integrates professional values regarding scholarship, service and global engagement. Finally, a nurse prepared at the Master’s level can apply legal, ethical and human caring principles to situations in advanced nursing practice.

The primary purpose of the presentation is to reflect back over the past eight weeks and provide a description how the course outcomes have prepared me to meet specific MSN program outcomes. The MSN program outcome that the course has effectively prepared me to achieve is that of planning for lifelong personal and professional growth that integrated professional values regarding scholarship, service and global engagement (Sullivan, 2017). Since the Master’s degree program is broadly defined as a form of nursing intervention that assists in influencing health acre outcomes for individuals, populations or systems.

Upon completion of the program, I have made changes to my lifelong personal and professional growth since I have escalated the essence of integration of the professional values regarding scholarship, service and global engagement. The primary areas of my plan include the improvement of the self-knowledge and discernment, scaling up my academic engagement and promoting an environment for leadership and co- curricular learning. Additionally, I plan to integrate service to others by looking beyond myself so as to ensure that I promote service to others. MSN program is meant to improve the manner in which I provide services. Finally, the other primary area of my plan is the personal and professional development.

One of the specific aspects of my plan is creative academic engagement. The most important activity that an MSN level program nurse should get involved is ensuring that they continuously involve themselves in the improvement of the body of knowledge. I plan to improve my creative academic engagement since it is a leeway to better educational outcomes. It is essential that I continuously explore opportunities for advanced and holistic learning. It is through the creative academic engagement that I would be able to map out the best way to which I will be able to achieve my desired goals. I also plan to ensure that I closely work with my MSN program tutors. Close collaboration with faculty tutors would assist in sharpening academic awareness, investigate new areas of intellectual growth or preparation (Rigolosi, 2015). Addition, it is through the creative academic engagement that I would be able to thoroughly consider the moral implication of the scholarship and the research and foster a lifelong desire ad love of learning. Some of the specific ways that I have considered that will assist me in achieving my plan are by introducing peer tutoring, academic club membership and getting involved in the improvement of the body of nursing knowledge. I have also created a table that would be used to monitor my creative academic engagement. The table has columns for the activities that I have done and the list of activities and the time frame that I am supposed to carry out these activities.

The other aspect of my plan is the self-knowledge. The primary focus of these tenets is to assist me in becoming more aware of self, my plans. My academic journey is a time of exploration, discernment, and reflection. It is essential to consider who I am and the essentially what I value since these are some of the questions that is essential in the decision-making process (Marquis & Huston, 2017). Some of the specific activities that I plan to consider are the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, strengths finder, have focus career guidance and develop a personal success Action Plan and the integration of the personal reflection regarding topics that are related to my personal growth. In this aspect of my plan, I have also developed a table that has activities that I have done, those activities that I plan to do and those that I do not intend to do and those that I have not yet decided upon.

The final aspect of my plan is the service to others by looking beyond self. The basic way that I plan to carry out these plans is by using the spiritual, community and learning avenues to serve others. As an MSN nurse, I am required to ensure that I meet the needs of others while exploring the depth of body, soul, and the mind. Through this, I will be able to understand the complexities of the world beyond my experiences. I plan to achieve this by getting involved in on- going volunteer activities and the club activities. Additionally, I have developed a table that I have developed a table that details the activities that I have done, those that I plan to do, those that I intend to do, those that I do not intend to do and those that I have not yet done.

There are plans that I have to put in place to achieve NP core competencies that involve leadership. Some of the ways that I think that I am going to achieve these will include active participation in the initiation and guiding change in the organization that I would be working. I also plan to provide leadership that promotes collaboration with multiple stakeholders and other policy makers to improve health care. I will also apply critical and reflective thinking in all activities that I would carry out as a leader. Through this, I think, I will be able to improve my competencies as a leader prepared at the MSN level.
