Week 4 Template Quantitative Article Qualitative Article
Identify and describe the sample including demographics, in the studies chosen in W2 Assignment 2 The chosen sample included 312 respondents, in which 220 had signed an organ donor card (Bortz, Ashkenazi, &Melnikov,2015).

The chosen sample entailed two focus groups of women (women housed in maximum security, and women housed in medium security)(Dinkel, & Schmidt, 2014).

Discuss the steps of the data collection process used in the studies

Collection of data entailed use of paper questionnaire and a Web-based questionnaire, which the researchers administered for participants to complete(Bortz, Ashkenazi, &Melnikov, 2015). Central to the data collection in this study was the interview of two focus groups (women housed in maximum security, and women housed in medium security)(Dinkel, & Schmidt, 2014).
Identify the study variables (independent and dependent) Independent variable:spirituality, lifepurpose, and attitudes

Dependent variable:organ donation

Independent variable:health education needs

Dependent variable:self-care skill set

Identify the sampling design Bortz, Ashkenazi, andMelnikov, (2015), failed to identify the sampling design utilized in this studyopenly Dinkel, and Schmidt, (2014) failed to state openlythe sampling design utilized in this study
Describe the instrument, tool, or survey used in each

article.

In this study, paper questionnaire and a Web-based questionnairewere the instrument utilized for data collection(Bortz, Ashkenazi, &Melnikov, 2015). A list of questions was handy in directing the responses given by the study participants(Dinkel, & Schmidt, 2014).
Summarize the discussion about the validity and reliability of the instruments, tools, or surveys used in each article Given the objectivity of the questionnaires used, validity and reliability of the findings remained high(Bortz, Ashkenazi, &Melnikov, 2015) Dinkel, and Schmidt, (2014) used a list of questions whose responses by the study participants was subject to bias, which lowers the reliability and validity of the tool used in this study
Identify the legal and ethical  concerns for each article, includinginformed consent and IRB approval Bortz, Ashkenazi, andMelnikov, (2015), sought IRB approval and informed consent prior to the conducting of this research Prior to the carrying out of the study, the researchers sought for approval from the university institutional review board (IRB) and the state Department of Corrections (DOC) IRB(Dinkel, & Schmidt, 2014).
